Put Parental Advisory Stickers On All The Wrong Records
My earliest memory of a vague feeling of the depressing weight of existence
was hearing Eleanor Rigby in a cafe in Irvine. Well done Paul McCartney
- I hope you're proud of yourself, upsetting little kids. The date Eleanor
Rigby was released (5th August 1966) ties in exactly with me being three-and-a-bit
years old, my older sisters at school, my younger sister still somewhere
on the horizon and my mum having more free time to venture out the house
and expose her son to the wonders of life in a small provincial industrial
Scottish town.
