Girls Make Me Sick was our debut single, and John wrote it on New Year's Day 1999. The title is taken from a chapter heading in Walter Greenwood's novel Love On the Dole.
Permanent Past Tense is a song that Basil originally wrote under the guise of Coconut University.
Arbor Day was written in 2005, and shares its title with a 10,000 Maniacs song. We recorded it at our first Ca Va session in April 2006, with Pete Harvey on cello.
